BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that he has signed the following bills passed by the legislature into law, bringing the total to 217 bills signed into law to date:
SB 32 – Sen. Chaisson
This bill authorizes St. John the Baptist Parish to utilize funds from an existing millage for construction or renovation of a facility to house juvenile probation officers, judges, counselors and other personnel associated with juvenile services.
SB 41 – Sen. Dupre
This bill changes the name of the Mineral Resources Operation Fund to the Mineral and Energy Operation Fund and requires the fund to be used by the Department of Natural Resources for the regulation of minerals, ground water and related energy activities.
SB 105 – Sen. Duplessis
This bill creates the crime of residential mortgage fraud.
HB 389 – Rep. Greene
This bill extends the exemption for purchases and leases of educational materials and equipment used for classroom instruction by nonpublic schools.
HB 667 – Rep. Fannin
This bill provides for the establishment and reestablishment of agency ancillary funds, appropriation of funds and to regulate the administration of the funds.
HB 802 – Rep. Fannin
This bill relates to the transfer and deposit of monies among state funds.
HB 879 – Rep. Tucker
This bill provides for Supplemental Hospital Appropriations for SFY 08-09, related to uncompensated care and hurricane related losses.
HB 87 – Rep. Carmody
This bill amends the crime of indecent behavior with juveniles involving lewd or lascivious communications.
HB 155 – Rep. Hardy
This bill amends the definition of “negligent injuring” and “negligent homicide” to include attacks by dogs or other animals.
HB 219 – Rep. Carmody
This bill relates to the payment of fines, taxes and fees to the sheriff and ex officio tax collectors.
HB 261 – Rep. Connick
This bill relates to the amount of the homestead exemption that is exempt from seizure and sale.
HB 279 – Rep. Richardson
This bill allows the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court to appoint deputy clerks.
HB 341 – Rep. Connick
This bill appropriates funds for the payment of legal expenses of Dr. Anna Pou.
HB 363 – Rep. Aubert
This bill clarifies rules related to spousal reimbursement claims pending divorce.
HB 403 – Rep. Foil
This bill updates the Commercial Laws of Louisiana.
HB 410 – Rep. B. Badon
This bill authorizes the taking of certain quadrupeds destroying crawfish.
HB 447 – Rep. Thibaut
This bill creates uniformity in the law relating to court reporters.
HB 512 – Rep. Guinn
This bill allows the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission to suspend certain regulations in times of declared emergency or disaster.
HB 518 – Rep. A. Badon
This bill revises definitions relative to the Parish Transportation Fund and the distribution formula.
HB 565 – Rep. Ernst
This bill relates to the use of “informal adjustment agreements” in juvenile proceedings.
HB 574 – Rep. Richmond
This bill authorizes a district court to designate divisions/sections with specialized subject matter jurisdiction.
HB 619 – Rep. T. Burns
This bill authorizes the sale of state property in St. Tammany Parish.
HB 624 – Rep. G. Jackson
This bill encourages the collection and use of waste fats, oils, and grease in the manufacturing of biodiesel fuels.
HB 645 – Rep. Ellington
This bill relates to the annual canvass of persons registered to vote.
HB 652 – Rep. Norton
This bill relates to the adoption of minimum safety guidelines by DOTD for work performed in the construction of highways.
HB 699 – Rep. Ernst
This bill relates to the Lakeview Crime Prevention District in Orleans Parish.
HB 712 – Rep. G. Smith
This bill requires justices of the peace to complete the Attorney General’s Arrest Warrants Course to issue arrest warrants.
HB 761 – Rep. Billiott
This bill revises certain provisions relative to driving and traffic violations.
HB 787 – Rep. Baldone
This bill grants powers to levee districts for conservation purposes.
HB 823 – Rep. Danahay
This bill exempts certain special service districts from the requirements relating to the receipt of bids via high speed Internet access.
HB 880 – Rep. Templet
This bill relates to convenience fees levied by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections for certain permits.
