Oct 01, 2012 BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the D.A.R.E. Advisory Board. The D.A.R.E. Advisory Board serves to develop, promote, monitor and evaluate the D.A.R.E. Program throughout the state of Louisiana and regulate the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement regarding the performance of its duties in relation to the D.A.R.E. Program. According to the executive order, the board is comprised of thirteen members, who shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governor, selected as follows:
Appointments to the D.A.R.E. Advisory Board: Mike Thompson, of Baton Rouge, is the Director of Investigations for the Attorney General’s Office. Thompson will be appointed to serve as a representative of the Drug Policy Board, as required by executive order. Bobby Guidroz, of Opelousas, is the Sheriff of St. Landry Parish. Guidroz will be reappointed to represent community interests, as required by executive order. Sam Chrisman, of Monroe, is a Lieutenant at the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and is the President of the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers’ Association. Chrisman will be appointed to serve as the President of the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers’ Association, as required by executive order. Victor Jones, Jr., of Natchitoches, is the Sheriff of Natchitoches Parish. Jones will be reappointed to serve as a member from the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association, as required by executive order. Mike “Snapper” Knaps, of Baker, is the Baker Chief of Police and Marshal. Knaps will be reappointed to serve as a member from the Louisiana Chiefs of Police Association, as required by executive order. Mike Stone, of Ruston, is the Sheriff of Lincoln Parish. Stone will be reappointed to serve as a member of the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association, as required by executive order. Gary “Stitch” Guillory, of Westlake, is the Chief Deputy for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and was formerly the Chief of Police for the City of Westlake. Guillory will be reappointed to serve as a member of the Louisiana Chiefs of Police Association, as required by executive order. ### |
