Oct 01, 2012 BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Dr. John Emerson to the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine. The Board of Veterinary Medicine serves to examine and determine the qualifications and fitness of applicants for a license to practice veterinary medicine in the state and issue, renew, deny, suspend, or revoke licenses and temporary permits to practice veterinary medicine in the state. According to statute, the board is comprised of five gubernatorial appointments selected from the nominations by the State Veterinary Medical Association. All members must be graduates of veterinary school and must have been licensed to practice veterinary medicine for at least five years. John Emerson, of Lake Charles, is the Owner of Pet Emergency Clinic. Emerson will be appointed to serve as a nominee of the State Veterinary Medical Association, as required by statute. ### |
