Oct 01, 2012 BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy serves to regulate the practice of pharmacy in Louisiana in the interest of health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the state of Louisiana. According to statute, the board is comprised of seventeen gubernatorial appointments which are subject to Senate confirmation. The governor must select two licensed pharmacists from each pharmacy district from nominees receiving the highest number of nominations from pharmacists in the district submitted by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy and one at-large member representing the consumers of Louisiana. All appointees to the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy will serve a six year term. Appointments to the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy: Brian Bond, of Jena, is a staff pharmacist at Christus Dubuis Pharmacy, Promise Specialty Hospital of Miss-Lou, and Health South Rehabilitation Hospital. Bond was re-nominated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to represent the 8th Pharmacy District, as required by statute. Chris Melancon, of Carencro, is the Owner of Melancon Pharmacy. Melancon was re-nominated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to represent the 7th Pharmacy District, as required by statute. Blake Pitre, of Houma, is the Owner of Pitre’s Pharmacy. Pitre was re-nominated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to represent the 3rd Pharmacy District, as required by statute. T. Morris Rabb, of Monroe, is a pharmacist at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Rabb was re-nominated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to represent the 5th Pharmacy District, as required by statute. Rhonny Valentine, of Mansfield, is the Owner of Valentine Pharmacy. Valentine was nominated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to represent the 4th Pharmacy District, as required by statute. ### |
