Oct 01, 2012 BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced reappointments to the Cane Waterway Commission. The Cane Waterway Commission serves to manage, regulate and maintain the Cane River Waterway. According to statute, the commission is composed of five gubernatorial appointments, subject to Senate confirmation. One member each is chosen from nominations submitted by the governing body of the city of Natchitoches, the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury, the Natchitoches Levee and Drainage District, and the Soil and Natchitoches Water Conservation District. The remaining member will serve as an at-large member. Reappointments to the Cane Waterway Commission: Paul Gregory Khoury, of Natchitoches, is the Vice President and Sales Manager for Natchitoches Beverage. Khoury will be reappointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute. Gerald Longlois, of Natchitoches, is a member of the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury. Longlois will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury, as required by statute. John “Chad” Methvin, of Natchitoches, is a self-employed farmer. Methvin will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Natchitoches Levee and Drainage District, as required by statute. Margaret Vienne, of Natchez, is an instructor of accounting at Northwestern State University. Vienne will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Natchitoches Soil and Water Conservation District, as required by statute. Van Wiggins, of Natchitoches, is the Owner of Wiggins Lawn Chiefs, a lawn and grounds maintenance company. Wiggins will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the City of Natchitoches, as required by statute. ### |
