BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Julian Venoy Kinnaird to the Board of Commissioners of the Tensas Basin Levee District.

The Board of Commissioners of the Tensas Basin Levee District is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the levees and maintaining the levee drainage system within the district which is comprised of Caldwell, Catahoula, Franklin, LaSalle, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland and West Carroll parishes. 

According to statute, the board is comprised of eleven members, including one commissioner from each parish within the district. Additionally, two more members are appointed from Ouachita Parish and one member is appointed at-large from the district. 

Julian Venoy Kinnaird, of Bastrop, is a self-employed farmer.  Kinnaird will be reappointed to serve as a representative of Morehouse Parish, as required by statute.
