Dec 06, 2012 BATON ROUGE- Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Capt. James E. Cramond to the Pilotage Fee Commission. The Pilotage Fee Commission has the exclusive authority to establish reasonable fees and rates for pilotage services to ships and vessels, pilotage services to ships in distress, and extraordinary pilotage services. According to statute, the commission shall consist of twelve gubernatorial appointments and eight gubernatorial appointment alternatives which must be residents of the state of Louisiana. Four members and four alternatives must be selected to represent Louisiana businesses. Four members and four alternatives must be selected to represent the associations designated by the board of directors of the four pilot associations including the Associated Branch Pilots for the Port of New Orleans, the River Port Pilots for the Port of New Orleans, the New Orleans Baton Rouge Steamship Pilots Association, and the Associated Branch Pilots for the Port of Lake Charles. Three members and one alternate must be selected as at-large members. The appointments are subject to senate confirmation. Capt. James E. Cramond, of Gretna, is President of the Crescent River Port Pilots' Association. Capt. Cramond will be appointed to serve as a representative of the Crescent River Port Pilots’ Association, as required by statue. ### |
