Governor Bobby Jindal Announces Appointments to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission

BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission.

The Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission serves to regulate the commerce and traffic of the Port of Greater Baton Rouge.

According to statute, the commission is comprised of 15 members, subject to senate confirmation.  Membership includes the following gubernatorial appointees:
  • Six commissioners selected from nominations submitted by the East Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation; 
  • Three commissioners selected from nominations submitted by the West Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation; 
  • Two commissioners selected from nominations submitted by the Iberville Parish legislative delegation; 
  • Two commissioners selected from nominations submitted by the Ascension Parish legislative delegation; and 
  • Two commissioners selected from nominations submitted by Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, Inc.
Appointments to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission:

Donald Bohach, of Baton Rouge, is the Vice President of Marketing for Stupp Corporation.  Bohach will be reappointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the East Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Lee Harang, of Gonzales, is a sugar cane farmer and is the Secretary of the Farm Bureau.  Harang will be appointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, Inc., as required by statute. 

Brenda Hurst, of Port Allen, is a site manager for Wells Fargo. Hurst will be reappointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the West Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Jerry Juneau, of Baton Rouge, is the former Deputy Secretary-Treasurer for the Louisiana teacher retirement system and is a retired US Army Colonel.  Juneau will be reappointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the East Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Travis Medine, of White Castle, is a sugar cane farmer and is the Owner of Medine Farms.  Medine will be appointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, Inc., as required by statute.

Lynn Robertson, of Port Allen, is the Executive Director of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and was formerly the Mayor of the City of Port Allen. Robertson will be appointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the West Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Evans “Jimmy” Sanchez, of Gonzales, is a real estate agent at East Bank Realty.  Sanchez will be appointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the Ascension Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Philip “Corey” Sarullo, of Grosse Tete, is a branch manager for the Bank of Maringouin.  Sarullo will be reappointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the Iberville Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Clint Seneca, of Rosedale, is the Deputy Assessor for the Iberville Parish Assessor’s Office. Seneca will be reappointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the Iberville Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Blaine Sheets, of Gonzales, is the Owner of Specialized Industrial Maintenance.  Sheets will be reappointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the Ascension Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Robert “Bobby” Watts, of Zachary, is a field appraiser at the East Baton Rouge Parish Assessor’s Office and formerly worked in the Narcotics Division of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. Watts will be appointed to serve as a commissioner selected from nominations submitted by the East Baton Rouge Parish legislative delegation, as required by statute.
