Governor Bobby Jindal Announces Appointments to the Louisiana State Mineral Board

BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Louisiana State Mineral Board. 

The Louisiana State Mineral Board is the state body with the authority to lease state property for the development and production of minerals, oil, and gas.

The board consists of eleven members, nine of whom are appointed by the governor. The board is also comprised of the Governor and the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources. 

Appointments to the Louisiana State Mineral Board:

Emile Cordaro, of Shreveport, is a government affairs manager at Southwestern Electric Power Company since 1997. Cordaro will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Robert “Michael” Morton, of Broussard, is the President of LandCoast, a contractor for insulation and related services, and is a member of the Southwest Louisiana Insulation Contractors Association. Morton will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Thomas Sanders, of Lake Charles, is a self-employed attorney with Thomas Sanders, PLC. Sanders will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

W. Paul Segura Jr., of Lafayette, is the President and CEO of Segura Development. Segura will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Louis Lambert, of Prairieville, is a plaintiff’s attorney, former state senator, and former public service commissioner. Lambert will be appointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.
