BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the reappointment of Robert McKinney to the State Board of Architectural Examiners.
The State Board of Architectural Examiners serves to hold examinations and grant certificates that entitle the holder to practice as an architect in Louisiana.
According to statute, the board is comprised of seven gubernatorial appointments including one architect that has been employed full time in architectural education, or has been an administrator of building design, construction, or design standards for government at the local, state, or national level and one member who is not actively engaged in or retired from the profession of architecture or other closely related fields. The five remaining members are selected from nominations, resulting from a statewide election, from each of the five architectural examiner districts established in the statute.
Robert McKinney, of Lafayette, is the Director of Academic Planning and Faculty Development at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. McKinney will be reappointed as a architect employed full time in architectural education, as required by statute.
