Governor tells Legislature: “Send me that bill.”
BATON ROUGE--During his annual address to a Joint Session of the Louisiana State Legislature Monday, Governor Bobby Jindal re-affirmed his commitment to eliminating income tax in Louisiana.
Governor Jindal told the Legislature: “Let’s work together. Let’s pass a bill this session. Let’s get rid of the income tax once and for all. …Send me that bill.”
Governor Jindal went on to tell legislators:
“Send me that bill to make Louisiana the best state in the country to create jobs and raise a family…we don’t just want to compete—we want to win the contest. For new jobs, for new investment and to bring our sons and daughters home. Send me that bill.”
The Governor’s call for eliminating income taxes in Louisiana was met with a standing ovation from the Legislature.
