The Governor's Office of Indian Affairs

The mission of the Office of Indian Affairs is to assist Louisiana American Indians in receiving education, realizing self-determination, improving the quality of life, and developing a mutual relationship between the state and the tribes.

The office acts as a pass through agent as it distributes funding to various local government entities in Avoyelles Parish from the Tunica-Biloxi Casino to be used for infrastructure and awards scholarships to American Indian students.
