About Us
About Us The Governor’s Advisory Council on Disability Affairs (GACDA), along with Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC), are coordinated under the Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs. GACDA is a 28 member council, comprised of appointees from state agencies and advocates, created by Executive Order, to advise the Governor on Disability Issues. SILC is a 21 member body established to promote independent living services throughout the state. The GODA team acts as a core support to programs, holding public forums, attending various organizational training sessions and maintaining a vast pool of resources available to those who seek our assistance. GODA also acts as a referral resource available to all constituents with concerns relative to disability issues. Offering in depth constituent services is a vital function of our office. We make every effort to assist in resolving constituent concerns with compassion and understanding in a timely manner to the best of our abilities. Mission Statement Our staff members are eager to work with you on any issue you may have. We welcome your comments and ideas for making positive changes.
