In April 2005, the Drug Policy Board assigned the State Epidemiology Workgroup the task of
collection and analyses of data on the consumption and consequences of substance use to
guide prevention decision-making.  The State Epidemiology Workgroup works in collaboration
with the Prevention Systems Committee to advise and make recommendations to the Drug
Policy Board on issues relating to programs, policies, and practices that build a solid
foundation for delivering and sustaining an effective substance abuse prevention effort.
The State Epidemiology Workgroup is comprised of individuals and organizations who are
knowledgeable about alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug data and prevention issues.
