BATON ROUGE - Today, First Lady Donna Edwards is partnering with the Louisiana School Boards Association (LSBA) and encouraging anyone who is able to consider donating to the “LSBA Fund for Restoring Schools.”  The fund will assist flood-damaged schools throughout South Louisiana.

“My heart goes out to everyone impacted by the flooding,” said Mrs. Edwards. “As a mother and an educator, I cannot help but think about the effect this is having on our students and teachers. There are many needs for families working to get back on their feet. Our children are the future of Louisiana, and we have a responsibility to help them regain some normalcy and stability. I am excited to partner with LSBA, and I look forward to visiting with students who’ve been impacted by this storm.”

The LSBA launched the fund to raise the money needed to help schools provide classroom supplies, school uniforms, technology equipment, structural repairs, clean-up costs and other needed aid.
