REGISTER WITH FEMA

Disaster survivors are urged to register for federal disaster assistance with FEMA. The claim number for the recent severe storms and tornadoes in Louisiana is 4300. When you have completed the FEMA registration, you will be assigned a FEMA registration number. 

Individuals and business owners in the designated parishes who had damage should register for “Individual Assistance” with FEMA in the following ways: 

  • Online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov
  • By phone at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)
  • People who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY should call 1-800-462-7585
  • For those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362

The phone numbers above will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

 

DSNAP AVAILABLE FOR ORLEANS PARISH RESIDENTS

The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) location in Orleans Parish will be open Tuesday, February 21, through Friday, February 24, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Click here for more information.

DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE

The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) is accepting applications for DUA from residents and businesses in Livingston and Orleans Parishes until the deadline of March 15, 2017. To file for DUA and for more information, applicants should visit www.laworks.net. Applications can be filed through the LWC’s HiRE (Helping Individuals Reach Employment) portal or by calling the Benefits Analysis Team at 1-866-783-5567 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
