The Office of Governor Jeff Landry offers official statements and certificates of acknowledgement as a courtesy to Louisiana citizens. Requests must be submitted at least 45 days in advance and no earlier than 90 days before the recognized date. No proclamation will be proclaimed more than 45 days in advance. Proclamations are not automatically renewed and must be requested on an annual basis.
An official statement/certificate of acknowledgement is a document recognizing a special event or milestone which includes:
- Birthday (60 and beyond)
- Eagle Scout Award
- Girl Scout Honor
- Wedding Anniversary
- Community Event, Celebration or Festival
Due to the volume of requests, we will give priority to current Louisiana residents.
Note: A proclamation is a ceremonial document proclaiming a day, week or month that brings awareness to causes that affect Louisiana citizens. If you are requesting an official proclamation, rather than an official statement, please click here.
