Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.
Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority
The Chenier Plain CRPA is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana, and through its board of commissioners, is organized with the primary duty to establish, construct, operate, or maintain flood control works as they relate to hurricane protection, tidewater flooding, saltwater intrusion, and conservation, and a secondary duty to establish flood control, adequate drainage relating to tidal or riverine flooding, and water resources development including but not limited to construction of reservoirs, diversion canals, gravity and pump drainage systems, erosion control measures, and marsh management, and is authorized to enter into contracts and agreements.
Kay C. Barnett of Lake Charles has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Barnett is the owner of Kay Barnett Consulting and was nominated by the Police Jury of Calcasieu Parish.
Michael S. Dever of Sulphur has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Dever is an environmental specialist at Providence and was nominated by the Police Jury of Calcasieu Parish.
David W. Minton of Lake Charles has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Minton is the principal engineer at Cypress Engineering and Development.
Earnestine C. Horn of Creole has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Horn is retired and was nominated by the Police Jury of Cameron Parish.
Jake S. McCain of Bell City has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. McCain is the chief detective at the Cameron Parish Sheriff’ Officer and was nominated by the Police Jury of Cameron Parish.
Phillip L. Trosclair III of Grand Chenier has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Trosclair is the program manager at the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Trosclair was nominated by the Police Jury of Cameron Parish and will serve as a professional in environmental science.
Earl A. Landry Jr. of Erath has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Landry is the owner of Industrial and Oilfield Services. Landry was nominated by the Police Jury of Vermilion Parish and will serve as a professional in environmental science.
Ralph Libersat of Abbeville has been reappointed to the Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority. Libersat is the owner and senior project manager at Libersat Costal Services and was nominated by the Police Jury of Vermilion Parish.
Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Commission
The Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Commission's mission is to advise and provide guidance to LSU Fire & Emergency Training Institute relative to the conduct of training programs and performance of the university's functions pursuant to this Part.
William E. Parker of Harvey has been appointed to the Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Commission. Parker will represent the Louisiana State Firemen’s Association.
Reentry Advisory Council
The Reentry Advisory Council was created to establish a more systematic approach to identifying obstacles that impede successful reentry of ex-offenders. The council is charged with developing and implementing effective reentry strategies that improve public safety.
Joseph M. Ardoin Jr. of Weyanoke has been reappointed to the Reentry Advisory Council. Ardoin is the business manager of B.R. Building and Construction Trades Council and will represent Construction Trades Louisiana State Building and Council.
Louis S. Reine of Baton Rouge has been reappointed to the Reentry Advisory Council. Reine is the president of the Louisiana AFL-CIO and will represent them on the board. Reine will also serve as the chairman of the board.
Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Sanitarians
The Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Sanitarians is charged with the responsibility of examining all applicants for licenses to practice as sanitarians in the State of Louisiana and is empowered to issue licenses to applicants who qualify and successfully pass the Board’s examination.
Dane L. Thibodeaux of Lake Charles has been appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Sanitarians. Thibodeaux is the sanitarian quality assurance director for the State of Louisiana and is a practicing sanitarian.
