Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.
Early Identification of Deaf or Hard of Hearing Infants Advisory Council
The Early Identification of Deaf or Hard of Hearing Infants Advisory Council advises the Office of Public Health on various aspects of the development and implementation of the Early Identification of Hearing Impairment in Infants Law, which includes making recommendations on risk factors for hearing loss, program standards and quality assurance, program integration with community resources, materials for distribution, and program implementation and follow-up.
Natalie J. Delgado Ed.D. of Prairieville has been appointed to the Early Identification of Deaf or Hard of Hearing Infants Advisory Council. Delgado is the director of outreach for the Louisiana School for the Deaf and will represent the Louisiana Association for the Deaf.
Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Committee
The Marriage and Family Therapy Committee (MFTAC) is responsible for examining and qualifying all applicants for provisional licensure as Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (PLMFTs) and for licensure as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs); and for recommending each successful applicant for provisional licensure or licensure to the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners.
Foley L. Nash of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Committee. Nash is the director of behavioral health for Aetna Better Health of Louisiana and was nominated by the executive board of the Louisiana Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Parish Boards of Election Supervisors
The purpose of the board in each parish is to oversee and supervise all elections within the parish to ensure the safety and accuracy of the democratic process. The Board of Election Supervisors oversees the preparation and conducting of each election in the parish. Each parish’s board is composed of the parish’s registrar of voters, the parish’s clerk of court, the chairman of the parish executive committee of each recognized political party, and one member appointed by the governor.
Sammy J. Franklin of Jena has been appointed to the Parish Boards of Election Supervisors. Franklin is the editor and publisher of the Jena Times and will serve as the election supervisor of LaSalle Parish.
Chaselynn R. Grant of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Parish Boards of Election Supervisors. Grant is a videographer and photographer at MFCool Productions and will serve as the election supervisor of East Baton Rouge Parish.
Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board
The Louisiana Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board serves to create initial and continuing education requirements for individuals licensed to perform Life Safety and Property Protection contracting.
Richard W. Booth of Jackson has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Booth is the regional sprinkler account manager at S&S Sprinkler Company and will serve as a representative of technical endorsement-fire sprinklers.
Mace H. Bourgeois of Covington has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Bourgeois is the president of Fire and Safety Commodities and will serve as a representative of portable fire extinguishers and hoses.
Francois J. Camenzuli of Metairie has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Camenzuli is a superintendent with Otis Elevator Company and will serve as a representative of an associate industry.
Kevin Chauvin of Port Allen has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Chauvin is an architectural hardware consultant at American Door and Hardware and will serve the board as a representative of door hardware.
Dera DeRoche-Jolet of Destrehan has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. DeRoche-Jolet is the chief financial officer at Alarm Monitoring Services and will serve as a representative of an associate industry.
Russell J. Guidry of Lake Charles has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Guidry is the branch manager at S&S Sprinkler Company and will serve as a representative of hydrostatic testing.
John W. Harmon of Covington has been appointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Harmon is the co-owner of Independent Elevator Inspections and will serve as a representative of conveyance.
Jeffrey L. Okun of New Orleans has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Okun is the president of Nuko Security and will serve as a representative of fire alarms.
Paul D. Robinson of New Roads has been reappointed to the Life Safety and Property Protection Education Board. Robinson is the owner and president of Electric Ages and Access Control and will serve as a representative of gate systems.
Louisiana State Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition
The Louisiana State Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition serves to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public by providing for the licensure and regulation of persons practicing the profession of dietetics and nutrition.
April E. Cintron of Pineville has been reappointed to the Louisiana State Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition. Cintron is the associate district manager of Valley Services and a licensed dietitian and nutritionist nominated by the Louisiana Dietetic Association.
Megan T. Kavanaugh of Ruston has been reappointed to the Louisiana State Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition. Kavanaugh is a registered nurse and dietician with the Diabetes Care Center and was nominated by the Louisiana Nurses Association.
The Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement
The Task Force shall elevate critical issues facing the Atchafalaya River Basin and the importance of its holistic management for navigation, flood control, and restoration. It will identify and build support for new and recurring sources of funding to reinvigorate the Basin Floodway System – Louisiana Project as well as identify shared goals for restoration and enhancement of the Basin, as illustrated in project types which benefit both the Basin and the larger coastal program managed by the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
Thomas Edgar Ashley of Plaquemine has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Ashley is retired and will serve as a representative of conservation organizations participating in policy or projects relating to the conservation of the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Leroy J. Blanchard III of Belle Rose has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Blanchard is the president of PAI Engineering Piping Analysis and will serve as a representative from the East Atchafalaya Basin.
Victor J. Blanchard IV of Plaquemine has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Blanchard is the land manager of A. Wilbert’s Sons and will serve as a representative of landowners in the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Christopher P. Bonvillain Ph.D. of Thibodaux has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Bonvillain is an associate professor of biological sciences at Nicholls State University and will serve as a representative from an academic institution doing research in the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Donald J. Braud of Gonzales has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Braud is the owner of Don’s Sportsman and will serve as a representative for the recreational fishing industry in the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Karen K. Gautreaux of Mandeville has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Gautreaux is the director of government relations for the Louisiana Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and will serve as a representative of conservation organizations participating in policy or projects relating to the conservation of the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Matthew H. Jewell of Maringouin has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Jewell is the owner of Jewell Insurance Agency and will serve as a representative of the commercial fishing industry in the East Atchafalaya Basin.
Jody P. Meche of Henderson has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Meche is a crawfisher and the president of the Louisiana Crawfish Producers Association-West. Meche will serve as a representative of the commercial fishing industry in the West Atchafalaya Basin.
Roswell K. Milling of New Orleans has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Milling will serve as a representative from the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Coastal Protection, Restoration and Conservation.
William Spencer Murphy of New Orleans has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Murphy is the general counsel of the Canal Barge Company and will serve as a representative of the inland navigation sector.
Robert C. “Rudy” Sparks Jr. of Patterson has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Sparks is the vice president of Williams Incorporated and will serve as a representative of landowners in the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Roy M. “Mike” Spinks of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Spinks is the regional director of operations for Enterprise Products and will serve as a representative of the energy transportation sector.
Christopher J. Tauzin of Breaux Bridge has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Tauzin is the co-owner of Assaf, Simoneaux, Tauzin and Associates and will serve as a representative from the West Atchafalaya Basin.
Raymond M. “Mac” Wade of Morgan City has been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Task Force on Atchafalaya River Basin Restoration and Enhancement. Wade is the executive director of the Port of Morgan City and will serve as its representative.
