Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.  

Traumatic Head and Spinal Cord Injury Trust Fund Advisory Board

The Traumatic Head and Spinal Cord Injury Trust Fund Advisory Board provides services in a flexible, individualized manner to Louisiana citizens with traumatic head or traumatic spinal cord injuries. The board administers a program which enables individuals to return to a reasonable level of functioning and independent living in their communities.

Robert H. Chatelain of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Traumatic Head and Spinal Cord Injury Trust Fund Advisory Board. Chatelain is the president of Cribbs, Inc. He will serve as a survivor of a spinal cord injury.

Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority

The Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority provides behavioral health and development disability services to the residents of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis and Cameron parishes.

Melanie K. Sarro of Lake Charles has been appointed to the Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority. Sarro is an occupational therapist for Sarro Therapeutic Services. She will serve as a member who is a parent in the field of developmental disabilities.

Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board

The Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board serves to defend the public health, safety and welfare by protecting the people of the State of Louisiana against unnecessary deaths andmorbidity due to trauma and time-sensitive illness.

Duke N. Walker of Lafayette has been appointed to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board. Walker is the vice president of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He will represent the Louisiana Hospital Association Rehabilitation Constituency Group.

Michele K. Sutton of Hammond has been appointed to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board. Sutton is the president and CEO of North Oaks Health System. She will represent a service district hospital as a member nominated by the Louisiana Hospital Association.

Capital Area Human Services District

The Capital Area Human Services District directs the operation and management of community-based programs and services relative to public health, mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services for the parishes of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.

Mary S. “Laverne” Aguillard of Ventress has been appointed to the Capitol Area Human Services District. Aguillard is a legal administrative assistant nurse-paralegal for Chad A. Aguillard Law Firm, LLC. She will represent Pointe Coupee Parish.

Ascension- St. James Airport and Transportation Authority

The Ascension-St. James Airport and Transportation Authority is a public corporation authorized to perform in its corporate capacity all acts necessary for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, maintaining, and operating the Louisiana Regional Airport in Gonzales, Louisiana.

Felix K. Boughton of Vacherie has been appointed to the Ascension- St. James Airport andTransportation Authority. Boughton is the director of finance for the St. James Parish Government. He will represent St. James Parish.
