Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.

Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority Board
The Addictive Disorders Regulatory Authority licenses and regulates addictive disorder counselors and prevention professionals in the State of Louisiana.

A. Kenison Roy III, M.D., of Metairie, was reappointed to the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority Board. Roy is a physician and the owner/medical director of Addiction Recovery Resources, Inc. As required by statute, he was nominated by the Louisiana State Medical Society and will serve as a non-voting member with significant knowledge in the area of addiction.

 

Louisiana Finfish Task Force
The Louisiana Finfish Task Force was established to study and monitor the finfish industry and to make recommendations to the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and other state agencies for the maximization of benefit from the finfish industry for the state of Louisiana and its citizens.

Wayne A. Rollo, of Belle Chasse, was appointed to the Louisiana Finfish Task Force. Rollo is a self-employed commercial fisherman and will serve as such on the task force. As required by statute, he was nominated by the Louisiana Shrimp Association.

 

Louisiana Medical Advisory Board
The Louisiana Medical Advisory Board assists the Office of Motor Vehicles in determining if a driver has any visual ability or physical condition, impairment, or disability which may impair his or her ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Christopher W. Wroten, O.D., of Amite, was appointed to the Louisiana Medical Advisory Board. Wroten is an optometrist and the owner of Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic. He will serve as an optometrist on the board.

 

Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners
The Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners serves to license and regulate chiropractors in the state of Louisiana.

Robert B. VanBreemen, D.C., of Prairieville, was reappointed to the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. VanBreemen is a chiropractor and the owner of Ascension Chiropractic Clinic.

 

Louisiana Statewide Independent Living Council
The Louisiana Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) was established to support the efforts of our citizens with disabilities to live independently in the community of their choice. Some of the specific duties of the Statewide Independent Living Council are: (1) jointly develop a State Plan for Independent Living; (2) monitor, review, and evaluate implementation of the state plan; and (3) develop strong positive partnerships with the Louisiana Rehabilitation Council and other members of the disability community.

Mitchell L. Granger, of Lake Charles, was appointed to the Louisiana Statewide Independent Living Council. Granger is the Executive Director of @Southwest Louisiana Independence Center. As required by statute, he will serve as a director of a center for independent living.

 

Louisiana Housing Corporation
The Louisiana Housing Corporationassures that every Louisiana resident is granted an opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, and energy efficient housing.

Andreanecia M. Morris, of New Orleans, was appointed to the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Morris is the Executive Director of HousingNOLA. She will serve as the representative of the 2nd Congressional District.

 

Louisiana Children's Trust Fund Board
The Louisiana Children's Trust Fund Board provides funds for non-profit and public agencies throughout the state for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

April R. Wehrs, of Hammond, was appointed to the Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund Board. Wehrs is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce. She will serve as a representative of the Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives on the board.

 

Restore Louisiana Task Force
The Restore Louisiana Task Force was formed to ensure that redevelopment in response to the floods of March and August 2016 is conducted to the highest standards of integrity and quality. The Task Force is charged with establishing both short and long-term priorities in developing plans for recovery and redevelopment.

Darryl S. Gissel, of Baton Rouge, was appointed to the Restore Louisiana Task Force. Gissel is a licensed real estate agent and broker and the owner of Oak Real Estate LLC.
