BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor John Bel Edwards announced that he signed the following bills into law:
ACT 17 – HB 1: Provides for the ordinary operating expenses of state government for Fiscal Year 2016-2017
ACT 588 – SB 57: Prohibits the increase in salary of unclassified employees in the executive branch of state government for a period commencing on the gubernatorial election day and concluding on inauguration day
ACT 589 – SB 407: Requires publication of certain contracts and reports on the Internet and and creates task force which is authorized to study and make annual assessments of state contracts
ACT 590 – HB 678: Provides for the assessment of a surcharge fee on prepaid 911 services
ACT 591 – HB 763: Authorizes and provides for behavioral health intervention and stabilization units
ACT 592 – HB 795: Provides relative to the organization of the Tax Exemption Budget
ACT 593 – HB 815: Prohibits post-abortion harvesting of fetal remains and requires burial or cremation of such remains
ACT 594 – HB 853: Changes the composition of the Avoyelles Parish Port Commission
ACT 595 – HB 902: Provides a process by which the oyster lease moratorium can be lifted
ACT 596 – HB 935: Provides relative to notice to policyholders of policy changes at renewal
ACT 597 – HB 1001: Provides with respect to limitations in apprenticeship law
ACT 598 – HB 1161: Provides relative to the composition of the La. State Board of Nursing
ACT 599 – HB 57: Provides relative to the assessment and remittal of employee contributions to the Firefighters' Pension and Relief Fund in the city of New Orleans
ACT 600 – HB 216: Limits the amount required to be spent per project under the Percent for Art Program
ACT 601 – HB 409: Provides for the transfer, deposit, and use of monies among state funds
ACT 602 – HB 933: Provides for the schedule of basic child support obligations
ACT 603 – HB 984: Provides for revenue sharing distribution for Fiscal Year 2016-2017
ACT 604 – HB 991: Provides that the La. Tuition Trust Authority shall administer the ABLE account program, which supports persons with disabilities
ACT 605 – HB 995: Increases the safe drinking water administration fee
ACT 606 – HB 1127: Provides relative to requirements of auto title companies
ACT 607 – HB 1134: Requires the Department of Public Safety and Corrections to issue an economic hardship license under certain circumstances
ACT 608 – HB 1135: Provides for the termination of parental rights in certain circumstances
ACT 609 – HB 1145: Provides sanctions for violations of drug division probation programs
ACT 610 – SB 111: Creates the Parkwood Terrace Crime Prevention and Neighborhood Improvement District in East Baton Rouge Parish
ACT 611 – SB 112: Provides relative to the practice of cosmetology
ACT 612 – SB 120: Provides relative to Ascension Parish Court
ACT 613 – SB 123: Revises and reorganizes Code of Criminal Procedure articles and Revised Statutes relative to bail
ACT 614 – SB 148: Abolishes boards and commissions, authorities, districts, and like entities that are inactive
ACT 615 – SB 277: Requires POST certification of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism security officers and provides for a Poverty Point State Historic Site Archaeologist
ACT 616 – SB 283: Provides for application by certain military personnel to be certified as a licensed professional engineer in Louisiana
ACT 617 – SB 302: Creates the Safe and Fair Return Act of 2016
ACT 618 – SB 337: Provides relative to the sale of dogs and cats in retail stores
ACT 619 – SB 446: Requires the Board of Regents to conduct a comprehensive review of the postsecondary needs of the state and each of its regions
ACT 620 – SB 454: Provides that Smart Growth Developments include amenities which enhance the quality of life for its residents
