description:

Our Summit has been the only Deaf Education Summit in Louisiana that provides education and networking specific to the needs of students who are DDBHH; bringing together national and local presenters to share new valuable information with parents, teachers, school administrators, psychologists, early intervention service specialists, mentors, social workers, audiologists, speech therapists, deaf education professionals, interpreters, and members of the DDBHH community.

This year, Louisiana Deaf Education Alliance, a project of Deaf Focus, invited Joshua Castille and Jules Dameron from Hypernovas Productions to assist in the coordination of our conference.

We are excited to have them with us. They certainly add personality, style and valuable input to the event. The theme of the conference this year will be "Connecting the Dots: Home, Classroom & Community", and through this conference we hope to provide guidance in connecting to needed resources and more. We invite parents, teachers, school administrators, psychologists, early intervention service specialists, mentors, social workers, audiologists, speech therapists, deaf education professionals, interpreters, and members of the DDBHH community to attend.

We are thrilled to announce our brand-new partnership with the Louisiana Special School District and the Louisiana School for the Deaf!

The members of the Louisiana Deaf Education Alliance are enthused by this new partnership and we will have our conference at the Louisiana School for the Deaf campus this year on May 7-9, 2020.

Our advocacy is an unpaid part of our organization and your generosity goes a long way in supporting our efforts to educate and bring solutions to long-standing issues of social injustices in our community.

Donations, sponsorships and exhibition booths go a long way in funding our conferences and our guest speakers. Please consider donating, sponsoring, and/or purchasing a space for your exhibition booth at the conference.
