Do you make a grocery list or use a calendar? We use these as visual reminders of what we need to do. Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) learn in a different way. Research has shown that they demonstrate a strength in visual learning. This is why we need to fill their lives with pictures. When we present information verbally, the words disappear but when we present the information visually, it is always there as long as the student needs it. This 4 week ONLINE module will define ASD and visual supports, discuss how they might be used and provide specific examples that can be used as models to accommodate individuals who Learn Thru Pictures.
