description:
Whether you are new to special education or have been involved for a while, this workshop is for you. This presentation introduces parents of children with special needs to their rights and responsibilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Parents begin to identify dreams and goals for their children, understand laws, and learn advocacy strategies that will assist them in helping their children reach these goals. Those who will benefit from attending are parents of children identified as a special education student or of children who are having difficulty in school but are currently unidentified.
