Baton Rouge, LA— Today, Governor Jeff Landry announced Wendy Gentry will serve as the Chair of the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Wendy was first appointed to the board in April 2024.

 

“Wendy has served LHC for nearly a year, where she has brought new ideas and innovation to the corporation. I am confident that in her new role as Chair, she will help streamline the agency in a way that best serves the people of our State. I am grateful for her service,” said Governor Jeff Landry.

 

“I am truly honored to be appointed as Chairman of the Louisiana Housing Corporation. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our state and work alongside dedicated leaders to ensure that all Louisianans have access to safe, affordable housing. Housing is the foundation of strong communities, and I look forward to contributing my experience in real estate and finance to help drive meaningful progress. I appreciate the trust placed in me and am committed to making a positive impact for families across Louisiana,” said Wendy Gentry.

 

 

Background:

Wendy Gentry has called Louisiana home for most of her life, and currently resides in Calhoun, Louisiana. Mrs. Gentry earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Louisiana Tech University and has over thirty years of experience in the real estate industry. Mrs. Gentry’s extensive professional career includes managing and directing three real estate holding companies, which provides her with widespread and in-depth knowledge of real estate acquisitions and management. In addition to her involvement in the real estate and rental housing market, Mrs. Gentry is a partner and CFO of a local finance company and oversees all accounting activities. 

 

Mrs. Gentry is actively involved in her community and dedicates her time to many civic activities, including serving as a reserve deputy for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit and has served on boards for non-profits such as the Children’s Coalition and Monroe Garden Study League. Mrs. Gentry is passionate about civic improvement and was chosen to serve as the Chairman of the Community Research and Development Committee for the Monroe Garden Study League for several years. 

 

Mrs. Gentry is an active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
