Action Alert #1: The DD Council needs to hear from you!
July 29, 2019
The Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council (Council) will determine its 2020 Legislative Advocacy Agenda in October. The Council wants to hear your ideas and recommendations on issues impacting people with developmental disabilities for consideration as priorities for the Council's 2020 Legislative Advocacy Agenda.
Let your voice be heard by participating in your regional LaCAN membership and community input meeting! Each regional LaCAN leader is hosting membership meetings to:
• Recap the 2019 Legislative Session;
• Get your input on issues to be considered by the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council of its 2020 Legislative Advocacy Agenda; and,
• Meet with fellow self-advocates, parents, and other LaCAN members.
Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to receive valuable information about LaCAN accomplishments during the 2019 session and have your voice heard by sharing your ideas about what the Council should consider for its 2020 Legislative Advocacy Agenda.
These meetings are free to attend.
If you have any questions or would like to RSVP for your regional meeting, please contact your regional LaCAN leader.
Dates, times and locations are listed below and will be updated here as additional meetings are scheduled.
If you are not able to attend but want to make sure your recommendations are heard, please contact your regional LaCAN leader by phone and/or email.
