Baton Rouge, LA- Today, Governor Jeff Landry sent a letter to Colonel Hodges, Superintendent of the Louisiana State Police, ordering an investigation into the Orleans Parish Criminal Court case files which were dumped in a landfill. Letter attached.

The investigation is to take place promptly, in an effort to identify those responsible. Paperwork will be sent to the Attorney General.

“The disposing of these case files is a disgusting abuse of power and a slap in the face to crime victims. Those who participated in this deliberate crime must be held accountable,” said Governor Jeff Landry. “I am confident the LSP investigation will assist in our efforts to uphold public trust in our criminal justice system, while also leading to answers and prosecutions.”
