Governor Jeff Landry issued a State of Emergency today in preparation for the winter weather expected to hit Louisiana.

Governor Jeff Landry announced that Louisiana is the first state in the nation to secure federal approval for its plan to deploy $1.355 billion in Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding through the state’s GUMBO 2.0 program. 

Pursuant to Governor Landry’s Jan. 1, 2025 executive order, the State of Louisiana will work to secure state-maintained interstates, bridges, and transportation lines in addition to ensuring that public streets, sidewalks, and other right of ways in Orleans Parish are in clean, accessible and safe condition.
