Louisiana to Become First State in the Nation to Establish a Full-Service OMV on a Federal Military Installation
VERNON PARISH, La. — Today, Governor Jeff Landry announced that Louisiana is expected to become the first state in the nation to establish a full-service Office of Motor Vehicles location on a federal military installation, providing driver’s licenses and other OMV services directly at Fort Polk.
“Louisiana is proud to lead the nation by becoming the first state to establish a full-service OMV on a federal military installation. Our service members and their families sacrifice every day for our freedom, and they deserve a state government that supports them. By bringing these essential services directly to Fort Polk, we are making life easier for the men and women who serve while strengthening recruitment and retention in Louisiana,” said Governor Jeff Landry.
“It’s an honor to be part of the first established Motor Vehicle Office on a federal military installation. Providing essential services to our veterans and service members has always been our priority. I am sincerely grateful for this partnership and hope we can continue to give back to those Armed Forces members who give us so much,” said DPS Principal Assistant Bryan Adams.
