Louisiana Updates 50-Year-Old OMV System

Baton Rouge, La– Today, Governor Landry announced an upgraded system, CHAMP Titles, Inc. ("CHAMP"), successfully launched its Driver Services platform for the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV).  Through the new and upgraded platform, Louisiana has replaced 50-year-old technology with a modern system designed to support driver licenses, identification cards, credential management, and future digital government services. This will ensure quicker turn around and less outages and delays. Choosing the CHAMP system will save taxpayers $30 million dollars. Watch Governor Landry’s announcement video below.

“We promised Louisianans shorter lines and an easier experience at the OMV, and today we’re delivering on that promise. CHAMP gives folks a faster, simpler way to get the services they need, while cutting costs and inefficiencies that have plagued this system for over fifty years. This is what a modern, 21st century government should look like,” said Gov. Landry.

The launch is the result of a close partnership between CHAMP, Governor Jeff Landry, his administration, the Louisiana OMV, the Louisiana Office of Technology Services (OTS), and stakeholders across the state. CHAMP and the state will continue work toward implementing the Vehicle Services platform in 2027, creating an integrated environment that supports both driver and vehicle transactions through a unified modern architecture.
